Last week, our Grape team went to the Vauxhall City farm, which gave us an in-depth understanding of the project. We went to Spitalfields and Hackney City Farm to clarify our project this week. After completing the interview and investigation, our group conducted a summary and investigation of the three city farms and compared them. Each member made a speech for the group to find out the advantages and disadvantages.
Our group had a meeting on Thursday to discuss our assignment. After hearing that other groups were speculating after 200 years, we changed the group’s original plan to speculate the next 50 years to 200 years. This puts us in a big dilemma because we find that the available evidence is too little and too imaginative. After the meeting, everyone looked for inspiration for improvement by watching different movies and books and reporting in the group as a group. We found that the deviation from the original idea was significant.
Evelyn and I were divided into the same group. We got some inspiration from watching movies (Ready Player 1 and Free Guy) about scenes of people and animals living together in a future virtual world and had some brainstorming afterward.
1. We believe that the future should not just be a Human Community, but we should build a Human & Animal Community, putting animals and humans on an equal footing. There will be no city farms in the future, and humans and animals will live together in cities.
2. Endangered animals, wild animals that are harmful to humans, and animals that can only survive in specific environments can still live in suitable environments. Humans can use VR to make animals appear in the Human & Animal Community through real-time display technology (like a mirror).
3. The conditions for humans and animals to survive together in cities are:
– Establish Wildlife Corridors
– Preserve Green Spaces and natural habitats
-Reduce Vehicle Speed
– Minimize Human Disturbance
– Add Animal Protection in Tech Products (like apple watch, Google maps and, GPS etc.)
-Educate two communities
After brainstorming, we put the ideas into a collage form and brought them to school to present to the group members.
